DESCRIPTION
With the Paper Ghosts album, Brian explores a different layer of his musical interest and ability. While his previous album, False Colors, featured a mix of rock, pop, and electronic music, Paper Ghosts focuses on straight-forward delivery and stripped-down instrumentation. Keyboards, organs and minimal beats appear throughout, but the main substance emerges from the interplay of guitars and vocals.
Don’t Wake Up kicks off the album with a simple beat and spiraling guitars, while a vocal melody carries the meditative track, Warmer Seas. Here We Are provides a cathartic ending to the album, with trilled electric guitar and a sweeping rhythm. Overall, Paper Ghosts blends acoustic guitars, modern style, and simple delivery into a memorable album.
